As part of the #BecauseWeAllCare campaign to encourage everyone to support the NHS post-COVID recovery, Healthwatch Sefton is asking local people to share their experience of care in hospital.
Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust, one of the leading mental health and community health trusts in the country, is asking for the public’s help to guide plans for a proposed new low secure unit for learning disability patients at Maghull Health Park.
As part of a national consultation we liaised with residents to gather their feedback on proposed policy changes and recognised that there was a great deal of support for these modifications which would help the NHS as a whole to save money. As a result we developed a medicines self care policy for Sefton and launched this during self care week.
We know from working with national, regional and local disability organisations that there is a significant gap in the NHS in carrying out ‘reasonable adjustments’ to enable people with a disability to engage effectively with their health services.
We work closely with Healthwatch and over the last 12 months, we have further strengthened this collaborative approach to capture your views and experiences by joining forces with the organisation’s Community Champion network

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) is urging local people to tell them how it is working in Sefton so it can review the take-up of, how you have accessed information about the vaccine and your attitudes towards the vaccine.
Healthwatch Sefton have opened a survey to ensure that anonymous local feedback from Sefton residents can be quickly shared back to the DHSC.
